Some are so quick to say, "just move". Be realistic. It's not that easy to just pick up and move, especially when you own a home. Plus, there is no guarantee that if one moves, life will be better. There are bad neighbors everywhere. I have to listen to my next door neighbors argue and curse on a daily basis, but I have had worse neighbors than that!

Gotta make sure the homes are built a long way from Zero Lot Lines. We had to look hard to find "our heaven", and had to sell our Townhome also. Thank goodness my sis was a Real Estate Broker, as she found our home before it was listed.

It's a lot of physical labor maintaining 3 acres of trees, shrubbery and lawn, but the privacy has it's advantages.

I feel for you, our neighbor is a single mother with 3 young girls, new subdivision and they egged all our homes. All four houses around their home. I called the police and stated that it probably was them but because they are the only ones without a fence they can say someone else did it. But I made sure when I was showing the mess to my aunt that the girls heard I called the police. Hopefully they'll stop. I hope you can get the noise toned down. Good luck.

Even with all my health issues and age double 7's. I can still manage our 250 trees/lawn and all the other things. Just got done sawing a tree that lightning struck a couple nights ago and broke it in half. Not an easy task with a reciprocating saw, but ain't know way, at my age I'm gonna be picking up any chain saw. Never used one and have to plans on using one.

@qvcfreak If I were you I'd make sure your neighbor has a copy of your city and state's (they could differ) vandalism and trespassing ordinances and statutes. You can leave it on her doorstoop with a little note that she should be aware of these because you will see to them being enforced.

Thank you. I will look into it. The mom is also being investigated by CPS, she works nights and leaves the girls alone (ages 7-13). I think the Border Patrolman across from her house reported her. I'm next door and can't see anything to her side but he sees everything. Again thank you.

Many years ago I ran Bell's billing computer center on the midnight shift. However, I was luckier than you: my neighbors in the apartment building were all retired and very up in age. Very, very quiet.
The only drawback: they noticed me leaving the building late at night dressed up and returning in the AM. I got very strange looks to say the least, LOL now.

Growing up, the insulation in many homes was not great and we could hear everything that went on outside. Now we can't hear most common outside sounds. However, the sound of lawn maintenance companies mowing and blowing is constant during the day. Normally I don't mind it, but I do notice it when I am sick in bed (thankfully not often).

Your post reminds me why I have not yet considered selling my house. My sons have moved to their own homes during the past several months. My neighbors are great (and quiet!), there is distance between out homes and the neighborhood is safe. My house may be too big for my dog and me, but I will close on my mortgage refi next month, so I think I will stay put for a while.
