I have just been diagnosed with Osteporosis. I have a prescription for Fosamax and told to take vitamind d and calcium. Anyone out there have any information they can share? I really want to build up my bones. Thanks.

Very surprised you were given Fosamax, very old med, so many newer and improved choices out there now. Hoping you hear from people here who are using other options successfully.

I had severe osteop until I got Evenity and that increased my bone density by 12% just after one year. It will continue to go up to as much as 17% but I have yet to have a scan to confirm it but for now I'm on Prolia and will soon get a Reclast infusion to transition off of Prolia.
Lift weights, walk on an incline and take all necessary supps to help my bone density. I'm under the care of an osteop clinic where they provide everything I need to know. They did extensive blood work to determine what is going on with my bones and what it has to do with my overall health, fitness and diet. I'm fortunate to have such a place here locally.
ETA-
Fosamax, along with any other kind of bisphosphonate, will not build new bone. It only slows the further loss of bone.
My tip is to visit this website and there you'll find a a lot of very usefull info:

The usual recommendation is to take Calcium, Vit D 3 , Vit K2 and Magnesium. You need the K2 to direct the calcium away from your heart, very important.

Thanks for the Vitamin K idea. I already do walk. I will try weight bearing exercises next.

I recommend Doctor's Best K2, 100 mcg it is made from chick peas, most are made from a fermented Japanese ingredient called Natto.

Margaret Martin has a great YouTube channel. It includes exercises to safely do and ways to move your body safely. She also has some research videos that are interesting. She is a physical therapist that specializes in osteoporosis. Margaret also has a website called Melioguide.
