IMHO Hollywood lost its class years ago. Now it seems they are entitled children, who do as they please, without consequence.

People have been making fun of bald men for years. I wonder how many people have been physically assaulted because of it.

We all work hard at our jobs ... do we get an award?  Why do the Hollywood elite need to be stroked by holding a show after they were paid millions for their job.  I did not watch the Oscars nor ever will.

When the "Jada & Will" incident came up on my news-feed, it just solidified the disgust of the spoiled and over-privileged.

@seaBreeze - the large companies I worked for gave out awards. If you got employee of the year, you got a trip to Mexico.  Lesser awards were gift certificates, monetary awards, etc.  I think it's totally fine to give out awards for a job well done, regardless of the industry.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Oscar's 2022, Was this for real?

In year's past we would look forward to the Oscars.  It was glamorous and always a well produced show.  We would go and see all the movies that were nominated for Best Picture.  Loved when Joan Rivers interviewed everyone on the Red Carpet.

But then it changed and we haven't even watched it for many years now.  It's become too political. The show itself became boring and the glamorous gowns are gone. Most dress like ladies of the night.

I think he and his wife should have just walked out in response to the so called  "joke" made in bad taste by the presenter. Violence is no answer to anything.

With that green gargantuan get-up she had on it would have taken twenty minutes and a production team to gather it all up and get outta there. The assault on Chris Rock was much more time efficient and provided Will Smith that "Big Man" vibe I think he was going for. He gets the Academy Award for best low class, tacky move in the history of the Oscars. What a disgrace. What a loser.

Didn't watch but too bad Cumberbatch didn't win. He actually deserved it. Besides, by most accounts he's a gentleman.

Nobody's been watching the Oscars and now everyone is talking about the show.  I'd say it was a publicity stunt.

Re: Oscar's 2022, Was this for real?

I didn't watch--but of course it is all over the world now--like that is so more important than what is really going on--that said---I am not a fan of anyone who thinks(rather doesn't think) that making fun of someones medical condition is funny and makes jokes about it. Joan Rivers was one who was awful about that-- Now after hearing what Chis Rock actually said-- that did not warrant physical violance, but good for Will for standing up for his wife---not the method he chose but for being a husband who is concerned for his  wives feelings and knows first hand what she has been going thru---my soon to be ex wouldn't lift a finger for me and never did in the 47 years we were married. An over re -action--yes--IMO--Mr Rock owes an apology if he were human enough to realize it how words matter.

Most all of my jobs had some kind of awards or recognition for jobs well done.
