I wonder what the public opinion of Oscar is in South Africa. He seems to be a pathetic soul. I wonder what his quality of life will be after the trial....Does he whither (sp) away out of public life or kill himself out despair or go on as if nothing happened??

He's been a national hero there for many years. I can't believe there wasn't enormous pressure on that judge towards some leniency. I don't believe he'll serve a minute of jail time.
