We bought only one brand new car in our life time. I think if you can find a car that is a couple years old with around 20k miles your better off. It will last you just as long as the new car and save you thousands of dollars. My moms Chevy equinox was bought with only 25k miles and it was less then two years old. The people wanted a different color. Saved them 10k compared to a new one.  My dad has always bought older vehicles to drive to and from work and our spare vehicle.
