A toddler died in Florida on Tuesday after being left inside a hot car for five hours, authorities said.
The 2-year-old boy, identified as Jacob Manchego, was found unresponsive in a locked SUV at a shopping plaza in Brandon. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Jacob’s half-sister, 21-year-old Fiorella Vanessa Silva-Tello, left the child in the vehicle.
Silva-Tello arrived for work at Best Friends for Kidz, a Christian-based childcare and learning center located in the shopping plaza, on Tuesday at around 9:30 a.m. with Jacob in the car, according to the sheriff’s office, which also noted that she went into work and left the little boy unattended in the vehicle.

She isn't fit to watch anyone's children. How did she get that job?

Wow!
She worked for a child center and "forgot" her 1/2 brother?
She probably didn't like the kid, and decided to off him.

IMO there is not excuse for leaving a child in the car. How could you not know your child is with you? Do these people never look in their rear view mirror?

Its crazy to me that this has started already. Hope its not indicitive of the coming summer....

You don't forget a kid for five hours
Makes me livid that people do this. This has to be on purpose

I find it incomprehensible!
I don't have children, but, when my Niece and Nephew were young enough to need a babysitter, or when they visited me, I was hypervigilant.
How can can you possibly forget a child?? And how could you think it would be OK to leave a 2 yr old unattended, in a car, for 5 minutes, let alone hours?
Tragic and it's hard to buy accidental👿

I looked at the daycare website, and I couldn't find any information about it being licensed.
They did have a message about this child's death, saying he wasn't in their care ,during the time it occurred.
It doesn't say much about the people they hire ,to be a child minder

??? I don't understand why people think this can only happen in warmer weather. Someone could leave a child in the car in winter and the child could freeze to death! This happens year 'round!
