Only 2 In. Of Snow But It's That....

pesty layer of ice on top that will get you. I'm glad DD brought her laptop home last night. She is working from home and not making that 70 mile round trip to the office. She has spoken to one attorney and there are only 6 people that got in. The rest are working from home. One secretary slid into a ditch trying to drive in.  She is okay.

DD had leftover Chinese, Sesame Chicken, for breakfast and I had a BLT.  Good start to a yucky home bound day. On the agenda here in laundry and general picking up for me. going to put a small pork roast in the oven later.  Exciting stuff.

Both cats are keeping DD company while she works so all is good.

Are you iced in? If so, what will you be doing?

[ Edited ]

Still icy here, but temps should be going up above freezing in an hour or so. At that time I will run out for 4 local errands, including filling up with gas for my car.

We had plenty of advanced notice about this storm, so I got some errands done in advance yesterday- as many as I could, but not all.

We got a small amount of snow before dawn, but that was washed away by the rain which later froze, creating the icy situation.

When I went to feed the birds, there was a small sheet of ice on each of the back steps.  Decided to wait a bit.

@LyndaGee Birds & Ice..........I also turned back twice over the past month.  Second attempt (ice coating over deep snow  NYS)....decided to spread seeds on ice.... better than nothing..........

..

within an hour got a 2 inches per hour dump and.....seeds were buried, birds had no clue food was there.

Successful feeders restocked after days of 50 degrees last week

Now big snow storm back again

Re: Only 2 In. Of Snow But It's That....

We got several inches of snow and it has been sleeting now for quite a while.  Roads are very icy so we won't be going out today.  That's okay with me, nothing like a stormy at home day with the fireplace going.  I just finished a workout and took a shower.  Next  a small load of laundry and putting my "winter" theme flameless candles away.  As I was cleaning the house the last couple of days I put them all together on a table.  At the same time I will replace them with my spring ones.  The outside wreath will have to wait for a nice day though Smiley Happy

Then for dinner later we are doing a nice omelette with homefries and leftover ribeye steak from last nights dinner on the side with some blue cheese and wine of course!

@KingstonsMom   Near my beautiful home town of Savannah? It's 53 here in North Georgia and rain off and on. I miss coastbut not the hurricanes and tropical storms.

@CrazyKittyLvr2    The problem is you forgot to mention your location.  Here in the Chicago surburbs about 2 in. of snow which was orginially suppose to be 5 to 7 in. so I am not complaining.  Have a great weekend.
