Re: One of the best introductions to classical music

Another of my favorites: Mendelssohn Violin Concerto E Minor.

Just a masterpiece and a wonderful violin performance.

Can anyone recommend a favorite classical CD? A 'Best Of'or a personal favorite? An introduction to classical music is fine too. I've been wanting to build a library of it and don't know where to start.

Beethoven Symphony No.6 (Pastoral) was recommended to me when I first expressed an interest in classical music.  Very easy listening.  I still adore it.

Don't judge this one until you listen  The 50 Shades of Grey Classical Album is delightful, IMO.  Here's a sample:  Track 1

@nyc1    My community in NC is blessed with a wonderful classical radio station.  I always leave it on when I leave my 2 cats.  It's WDAV Classical Publlic
Radio 89.9 FM and anyone can listen to it online:

My first cat loved Vivaldi.  So do the two who live with me now!
