One of My Favorite All Time QVC Purchases

It has to be at least 20 years since buying the Ron Popeil Professional Showtime Rotisserie from QVC. It's the big one that fits on a stand and can be used indoors or outdoors.

We mostly use it for prime rib, cooked one tonight as needed to get it out of the freezer. Will be making prime rib & barley soup with leftovers this weekend as it will be raining, so good!

Ron Popeil was a favorite he was quite the inventor.

My favorite is also a kitchen appliance: a Nessco 18 qt. roaster. It's close to 30 years old and still going. Turkeys, prime rib, and I used it as a second oven a few times for berry pies and brownies. Smiley Happy

I still have my Rotisserie from Ron Popiel.  Mine did not come with a stand, I got it when they first came on QVC.  We also love prime rib on it.  I make this every Christmas.  And now, after 20+ years, I cross my fingers that it will work long enough to finish the roast.

I also loved the Popiel pasta maker.  The pasta was so tender.  Unfortunately it did not last very long.

This will be an incentive for prime rib lol, couldn't get the pic to load before of tonight's dinner.  We use a local shop's prime rib rub, wowie it's good.

I think the same way too, worry a bit that it will eventually quit.  Maybe we'll be lucky and it'll keep going another 20 years.  We use it at the holidays too.  Such an easy and delicious meal.

Re: One of My Favorite All Time QVC Purchases

I don't know that it is a favorite, but I use it everyday. Years ago I bought the Black and Decker 18 volt handheld rechargeable hand vacuum. Still running.! We then bought the improved version, the 20 volt,  we use both everyday, crumbs, animal hair, tracked sand and dirt, and on and on and on. A little workhorse.

Not even sure that QVC still carries it, but I would recommend it to anyone!

@rockygems123 , I use my Popeil Rotisserie for turkey breast . It stays juicy, but has that nice crispy crust.

That sounds wonderful I think I'll try it.

Do you use a rub and / oil or marinade?

Re: One of My Favorite All Time QVC Purchases

We don't have them any longer, but when I was new to QVC I ordered 2 brown twig trees with lights. I think they were by Santa's Best. They were about 4 feet. And we put them on both sides of the front door.

They had choices for lights, on timer of course. Not only did they have single colors, but they had "seasons" lights. We had a button for Christmas. Spring, Patriotic, and Fall, and different settings like flashing, etc. So after Christmas was over, we did blue and sometimes white for January, red for February, green for March, then Spring. We switched to pink for Mother's Day, Patriotic for the summer, Fall, and usually purple or orange for Halloween. Orange or gold for Thanksgiving.

DS was a little boy when we got them, and he loved keeping track and "choosing" the colors when it was time to switch.

People always said they liked them and looked forward to seeing the different colors at night.

Some years ago one stopped working. I got in touch with someone from Santa's Best - the order was long gone from my history - and they emailed me directions and gave advice. The same one had a few more years, then nothing could be done. For a few years, until this past Christmas, the one worked. Then it started getting wonky, and what I used on the other one didn't work for this one. I couldn't find Santa's Best at all. So I took it down.

I still miss those trees. They put a smile on a lot of faces.  Smiley Happy

Re: One of My Favorite All Time QVC Purchases

We bought the Showtime Rotisserie at Home Depot when they had it on sale for $85. It's $155 on Amazon. It's easy to store. It makes the best Prime Rib.

Still have two Nesco ovens.
