Man, I was 9. I have no idea if I was able to see that. Bet I did though.

@qualitygal I was one year old....guess I missed it!
I do remember though,when older, being excited about the movie playing on TV every holiday season....watching on our RCA black and white 13 inch TV....no color for us... and no remote!

I did't start to watch until about 1959-60, but I remember sitting in the living room with my sisters and being spellbound. Of course we were all terrified of the WWW.
We only saw it in black and white until 1965, when we got a beautiful Zenith console color TV. My father said that The Cleveland Browns bought it for us. Apparently they won the NFL Championship that year and bets may have been placed.

I didn't get here until the 1970s and I remember my sisters and I getting very frustrated with the black and white.
Our parents and grandparents kept telling us to wait for it and I'm glad I did. It's one of my favorite movies ever.

I was born in the late '50's and fondly remember watching it all throughout my childhood. It was a super special occasion at my house - we had popcorn and koolaid - good times! I remember hiding behind the couch when the flying monkeys appeared - they terrified me!

It was an annual event when the film aired.
I'll always remember, when I was in college, our local movie theater had it on The BIG Screen.
When the house landed, and Dorothy opened the door...
... we "adults" all gasped.

I remember watching and the color part being in B&W because we did not have a color TV. I also remember how amazing it was the first time I saw it in color! - I don't think they even had remotes back then.
