Evidently this very young man is naive, arrogant and also has signed a waiver. The animals IMO do not need him for love and attention, they have each other for that. They do need him for medical assessment and care and that could be done without putting his life at risk every time he enters their space and puts his hands on them.

Beautiful creatures but we hear of people being attacked by them all the time. Very risky.
