So awful..all the misery caused by weather over the last few years. I've never seen anything like it and I'm no kid.

Tragic.

Reporting on these fires was on the news all last week.

It most certainly is national news .

How scary to see that smoke from your lovely beach, @suzyQ3. Stay safe.

Such a beautiful photo except for the terrible disaster going on in the background.  I'm so sad to hear that these fires aren't out yet.  Thanks for sharing this photo to put it all in perspective.

@tansy, your son is fine?

Yes, my son, DIL and grandson are okay but complaining about the smoke.  We’re heading there for Christmas.

@suzyQ3 That looks awful, so sad to see on the news. They're spreading all the way to San Diego-maybe I'm wrong but I didn't think they ever got them.

@suzyQ3  Yes, even here in Ohio they are reporting on this on a regular basis.  It's heartbreaking to see the devastation to such a beautiful place.  I don't think I could even stand the resulting smoke, as I'm very sensitive to that.  My prayers are with you all.  The worst thing that ever happens here in NE Ohio is the snow, and some people even enjoy that.

The Thomas fire is only 15% contained, as of this evening. My daughter, her cat, and her boyfriend are temporarily living with me

I'm 4 hours north of this fire,but our skies are smoky, too.  Now that some of the other fires are closer to containment, I hope they can move more resources to the Santa Barbara area.

I am just so speechless at what is happening to your State and in awe at how you all are able to deal with this?....It is as if all of California is on fire and I can't even begin to imagine the degree of devastation caused....Please know that my thoughts and heart are with all of you and I pray that your State will be relieved of this horrible disaster very soon!

I think we're all a bit shell shocked.  Had a major fire where I live last year, followed by some flooding this winter.  Then big fires to the north of me, and now more to the south.

@MyShadowLove.  Thanks for your kind thoughts!
