Update- I put a bucket over it, and my husband came home 30 minutes later from work and picked the mouse up with his hands (ewww) and took it to the field. He said it was a field mouse (fitting since we live in the country), and the mouse may have been injured by one of the cats as someone above here said because it didn't try to run when he picked it up.
He cant believe the cats watched it because one catches FLIES if they see one inside here, and they attack their cat toys.
AND he thinks I over reacted. Whatever! on the other hand he says he could see if it was a spider? A spider? lol. Spiders, bugs, bees whatever don't bother me. JUST mice!
We NEVER EVER argue since we met in 1999! well we argued today over a mouse no less.
Because I asked him to stop for traps on the way back from the Dr in case there are more. He said no and I cant drive anymore or Id go get them myself! So I said If I see ONE more mouse Im calling the exterminator.
Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it.

Well guess what? three MORE mice tonight on our first floor, and one got away to the basement. That DID IT. I cant believe this never saw a mouse in here ever till now!
I Called my friends exterminator. Hes calling me in the morning and Im having him come over if he can no matter what DH says. IVE HAD IT! (DH says why pay them he can put traps! Ohhhh now he gets it! Why didn't he pick up traps today on our way home from the Dr).
I have my grandkids Saturday. I told my daughter maybe she should find someone else for Saturday she said its OK my grandkids aren't afraid of mice. (now I really feel dumb but oh well!).
Also- DH went all through the house tonight and cannot find where theyre coming in. Well IMO the exterminator WILL find it and take care of it pronto!

I had one in a desk years ago. It chewed a bunch of papers lol. It was sooo loud at night. I put out a glue trap and found it dead on it the next day.

I think mice are cute... they don't bother me. I have not seen them in my house, although I have seen them in the attic. I leave them alone. Brown Recluse spiders, they bother me much more.

I will give you my address and you can come get them. I just saw 2 more behind the fridge run to laundry room. I am actually thinking of going and sleeping in our car in the driveway. Brrrr well this is a good way to lose weight, I cant eat!

My cat is an excellent mouser; he can kill a mouse with one bite to the neck. He doesn't torture it to death playing with it and he doesn't eat it. He puts the dead mouse next to his bowls of food. He's Siamese so he goes on and on about it.
A friend has a Persian who is a good mouser too but he eats the mouse's head, she's not best pleased about that.
