@Estellee  Oh absolutely, Estellee! I make a big batch of my  party mix popcorn and I store it in a lock and lock tupperware to eat and share throughout the week Smiley Very Happy.  I almost forgot that The Bachelorette is on tomorrow- thank you for reminding me,  I'm excited for  tomorrow night's episode Smiley Very HappyHeart

@SportyShorty07 I'm looking forward to the show too, I 'm picking up some popcorn today. Ready for the entertainment!

@Estellee  I thought that yesterday was Sunday, so one more day until The Bachelorette for me  Smiley Very Happy.  Ooh we'll be popcorn twins on Monday Smiley HappyHeart

Have you been enjoying the olympic games? I watched swimming, mens canoeing, table tennis, men's boxing, and surfing yesterday! The canoeing was so cool- I've never seen it on TV before and France created a motorized river course for them to compete.  The core strength on these hunks while they were canoeing down this fast river course was amazing! Table tennis was so hard to focus on since NBC had a televized grid shot of 4 matches going on at the same time and I had to keep moving my eyes up, down, left right just to try to see all of the matches and then I just had to give up and focus on one match at a time Smiley Very HappySmiley LOL

@SportyShorty07 Yes, I have watched some swimming and canoeing so far. Looking forward to some gymnastics,  breaking and also kayak cross.

@Estellee  Gymnastics, kayaking and breakdancing are fun to watch! I watched men's gymnastics yesterday too and I love watching the strenfth and athleticism in the guys- absolutely amazing athletes! Great sports all around Smiley Very Happy.  I watched archery just now and South Korea and China were so close in scores that they had to do a shoot-off! Smiley Very Happy

Just watched the Women's Mountain Bike race.  Knees hurt just from watching!

Haley Batten wins Silver for the USA, best Olympic performance ever for an American in the sport.

Looks to me like this from Greek mythology.
The blue Smurf guy was Dionysus.

@bikerbabe Yes that's exactly what I read that it was and I saw the picture.

I am a Christian and it doesn't bother me at all, I see far more actually critical issues in this world today. I started this as a thread about the Olympics, those who keep continuing to bring up politics and religion should try another forum where it's allowed

Re: Olympics Opening Ceremony Today

I thought the Marie Antoinettes in all the windows was creepy.

The American TV coverage was abysmal with no one who seemed to have a clue on French art or history beyond one or two comments from a cue card.

I still think the Beijing opening ceremony was the most jaw-dropping. I suspect Paris didn’t translate as well to television.

Yeah, Kelly Clarkson yelling "Whaaaat?  Are you kidding me?" didn't really explain the references to French history, art and culture very well.

"This is cool!   This is soooo cool!" were among her most helpful insights.

What were they thinking?

I thought the opening ceremony was not the best.  I missed the first 20 minutes but did see the drag queens representing to me the first supper. Very distasteful in my opinion. Thought the boats were kind of cool. The mechanical horse was very cool. Celine was beautiful!  Probably won't watch the games. Just my thoughts.

On a side note our state of Utah won the bid for the 2034 Winter Games. Very excited for that! They were held here in 2002.

@mare54   I lived there in 2002 and went to a couple of the skating events .  Not the main events it was the practice , but still exciting .  A few of us were given tickets from work .
