There is no delay.  It is airing live right now in real time.

I should have used the term "time difference".  Many are asleep or working during many of the live competitions and often hear/see the results before they show the highlights in our prime time.  Local news just said that Simone Biles first qualifier will be 1:10am Sunday morning - won't be staying up for that.  Although maybe a Covid positive - maybe I'll be able to watch some live evening competitions on the mornings I'm still working from home (if I can still focus on work, that is.)

Happens often, but it's worse when in Asia/Australia. It's just another reason for me to be less excited about the Olympics this year.

They should have waited another year and then maybe spectators could be there to cheer them on.yes, safety first!

I don't see this COVID thing leaving till at least 2030!  It'll just drag and on, mutating new variants.  They might as have no Olympics.

Re: Olympic opening ceremony

I'll be the outlier here and say I thought it was a very disappointing open ceremony.  I think the drone thing was breathtaking and probably very cool in person but it seemed very short.

And I'm not sure why John Legend has to be a part of everything.

Re: Olympic opening ceremony

@50Mickey   Thank you for being so kind.  I bet it is strange for the athletes to walk in an empty stadium and I bet Japan is hurting for money back on all their improvements for the Olympics.
