She was terrific in a TV movie as Mom to John Stamos, she was dying of cancer and wanted to see him get married before she passed.  Movie,was, A Match Made in Heaven. She fixed him up with her doctor.

That is one of the best lines from Moonstruck.   How many of us can identify with a crazy-in-love Cher and also with her mother, who understands what is necessary for two people to stick it out in marriage for the long haul?  You gotta love 'em like crazy...

Another of my favorite lines belonging to Olympia in the film is the one in which she says to Cher, who returned home in the early morning hours after spending the night with her fated love (the Nicolas Cage character) and her fiance returned from Sicily looking for her:  "Your life's going down the toilet..."

I loved her with Shirley in Steel Magnolias, their characters were great together. Love that movie
