My hubby is from the east coast, he has (3) sisters ages range in the 60's and 70's his eldest sister calls a purse a pocketbook the other (2) say purse, I didn't mean it as a bad thing.

@Tinkrbl44 @sure do my grandmother used to make them for everyone in the family ! They were on every end tables, back top in upholsterd chairs , dressers . My other grandmother knitted and would make all the grandchildren slipper booties with Pom poms ! Mine were always purple , was my favorite color .

my dad used to say That's the Nuts ! Meaning thats something or that's great !😂. I had never heard anyone then or since say that phrase . I guess it was just his . I miss hearing him say it .....

@Tinkrbl44 when a kid if we went out to dinner to a special place for a special occasion my mom would say We are going someplace "Fancy ". I guess versus our regular everyday restaurants lol

@foxywoods yeah what was that about sitting on the stoop or a cement step you'll get hemorrhoids!? I never understood thst , but family members would say that too .
