Old Singer sewing machines

Reading in my Chicken soup for the Golden Soul (60+). This story was on a woman who sewed a lot with her old Singer sewing machine. Reminded me of my grandmother's machine that had the foot peddle that went up and down & was foot pumped. By the time I got a machine, it had one foot pedal, or one your leg pressed into on the inside of the machine.

Did you ever sew, or have a friend or relative that was a sewing person?
