Sorry if I sound like Im bragging (I know people dont like that here). But I had my 3 granddaughters over (part time) for 3 weekdays this summer while school was out. My daughter made the one hour drive to and from because she said she trusts me with them the most. (which made me feel honored).
And today was the last (for now) so I got choked up.
They have kept me company, played Rock Band Wii with me, watched movies, etc. AND helped around the house, even painted 2 of our rooms, and dyed my hair.lol. But mostly they made me LAUGH AND SMILE.
Theyre off to the beach this week and then school starts. When they left today I tried to hide, but tears ran down my face when I handed them little bags of goodies as they hugged me one by one. They said why are you crying? I said well you have all been a blessing to me ( and I didnt say this but t was nice to have company while DH is at work and I sit here a lot of time in pain in my back and mostly bored).
They said we only live an hour away, we will be back :-)
Does anyone else get sad when school starts whether it be kids OR grand kids?
