This is kind of situation is when Yelp comes in handy. People read those reviews and restaurants usually respond.

I just don't get the drama. Why didn't you just ask the waitress to void out the transaction and re-charge you for your meal. You could have avoided all this drama and angst.
That was what she was supposed to have done - but she didn't. So now she has charged us for the other tables meal as well as our own - and I bet the same on their card. NO CREDIT was issued.
Didn't she give you a credit slip? That's your proof that a credit was issued. It takes time for the credit card company to have it in their system.
Why didn't you call the manager over and demand that they void the sale? You don't seem shy from your messages I have read on the forums.......

But seriously, if I made a error in my job, even though it was an accident, I'd be in court. So, no , I don't feel sorry for this waitress. She needs to be more careful. And I do feel the owner being unapologetic was rude.
You cannot seriously being comparing your profession to a new waitress on the job who made a mistake easily rectified?
Your nursing career has nothing to do with this. If you made a mistake with a patient you could have killed them. Having a server ring up your meal incorrectly is not a justified comparison in any sense whatsoever.

I certainly don't think it was a small thing that the waitress did. And @151949, you are correct, people are held to a different level of standards depending on the job.
Anyone who thinks this is a small mistake hasn't had their credit card compromised, maybe. I have. Its not a small thing. Its a big pain. If it happens to them, they'll be singing a different song.

I think a pound of flesh is what the OP really wanted...in a carry out container.
Yelp? For this? Come on.

Her credit card was NOT compromised. She was charged for another table's meal and she received credit for it. It was immediately caught.
The exact same thing happened to us last week and without all the drama, the waitress voided the sale. If she had given me a credit, I would have equally been as happy.
I just don't understand the big deal some people make out of petty stuff that happens in life. Oh the drama!

And you took the tip back, too, didn't you.

OP looks like she's going to make sure everyone she comes in contact with pay for their mistakes because of how she was held accountable as a nurse.
Sour, sour, sour.
