@sophiamarie, if you are a Costco member, check there and online at Costco for generators. LM

Generator shopping I will be going.
Well its been an interesting day. Our electric was originally off between 1:10am and 7:40am. House was almost up to normal temperature from the chilly 59 degrees, when at 10:45am the electric shut down again..
As the hours wore on I decided I better get the oil lamps out and filled before sunset. Just as I was doing so, the power came back on. It was 3:45pm.
Living in the country all my life I've become pretty adaptable, but having no access to water is something I haven't solved yet, unless I install a handpump on the well.

Lost power for the second time today. My UPS is not going to last much longer and then I will have to shut my computer down. The house is starting to get cold. I really dislike this storm.

@eddyandme I've done that before too. Also will fill the laundry sink in the basement. I just didn't think ahead this time. Once it came back on at 7:40am I thought we were safe for the day. LOL, I should have gathered up some of the snow that was on the deck before it melted.

I am sorry for your predicament loosing power must be terrible.
Today in CT the wind and the rain were so strong that for the first time in my life I literally was pushed against some bushes.
Quite frightening when the forces of nature control your motion 🌻

Our lights flickered here in PA. We had rain and high winds and I mean high. North of us had bad snow but we only had a little tiny dusting (more rain than snow here). My brother lives north of us, 2 huge trees fell in his yard (due to the wind), across his driveway. (Those trees were there 30 years!) Thankfully they missed his house! They were out at the time so now they cant get in their driveway to the garages, had to park on the road. Last I talked to him he was trying to get someone over to get the trees up.

@Allegheny, I hope all is up to snuff for you today. You made me remember that we once had lit all the candles I had in the house since we lost the power, and at the last candle, the power came on. I laughed so hard, like it's Murphy's Law or something.
