the question is.....what will you do if she asks to borrow tops again....you will have to ask yourself.....am I willing to throw away another top.....
your friend must have a real body odor issue or she doesn't wear deodorant....have you ever noticed it before you lent her the top....I worked with different people that I couldn't bear to be near them...the smell was so bad....
you did the right thing...toss it...not worth any more effort to make it whole again....

It's almost impossible to get body odors out of synthetics. It won't matter how many times you wash it. There's bacteria embedded in the fabric. Not worth all the water and soap you're going to waste. Give the top back to her and tell her you'd like for her to have it because it looks so good on her ![]()

I'm extremely curious to hear the "dead animal in plastic" story. I can't be the only one.

If you have a washer that is capable of steam/sanitizing your clothes, use that cycle. Otherwise ask friends if they have one. I use it all of the time!

I just had to. Call it morbid curiosity, but I'm sure there's a good story here.

It's not that interesting at all! LOL We brought home a cooler with raw hamburger in it. We forgot the hamburger was in it and left it out in the garage in the summer for weeks! I guess the cooler had a tight fit and we didn't smell anything. When I opened it up to use it again it was the most horrible stench ever. The hamburger was in a bag, so I just lifted it out and threw it away. I sprayed the cooler with XO and it shut. Then I would rinse it and do it over again. About 3 times and the smell was totally gone. You can't detect it at all.
The cooler was expensive and I hated to just throw it out.

20 Mule Team Borax is the best for getting out smells.

That must have been some heavy duty body odor. Does this person have a medical problem?

Thank you!! While you may not feel that it was an interesting story, that is still quite an endorsement for the XO product. I'll have to check that product out. I'm glad you were able to salvage your cooler.
