Why does the ""proper"" thread really matter?

I posted something a while back that I put in Among friends. Someone came in told me it was in the ""wrong"" thread. Who says one thread is right but another is wrong?

Yeah, I really don't see what difference it makes, except for the makeup, fashion etc. type forums. The ones about buying the QVC products should be about that but otherwise what is the difference?

I just like being on Viewpoints. This is where I spend the most time and know the most people. If they are going to start re-directing threads to all the various sub-forums, it's just going to be annoying. LOL

I also always liked being on Viewpoints and have friends here, but the positive thread needed to move after the first year here - it lasted one whole year on Viewpoints with lots of posters, but it's alright - it's still going strong on Among Friends now for seven years, so that's fine with me. I started out on Viewpoints and the kitchen one, hardly even knew about Among Friends, maybe it was called something different then. I'm sure it was, can't remember what though, do you? I know that Viewpoints was called Anything Goes within Reason.

I don't have a problem with O/T threads being moved, so long as it's noted so people know where to look.

The HSN forums do this, and it makes sense to me.
