Re: Observation Men And Women Aging

This is so funny. None of these people in Hollywood are aging well. They have fillers, Botox, or a lift and tuck. Sean Connery and Robert Redford are the only two that I would even consider have had nothing done, or at least very little. Redford spends a lot of time outdoors and it shows. So what? He was knock down gorgeous back in his prime and doesn't appear to need to validate himself by trying to hold on to his looks. That's aging gracefully. James Brolin is another one that doesn't seem hung up on his looks. I doubt Tom Selleck has done too much, but probably some since he's still on prime time.

Jane Fonda has had a facelift and God knows what else. Helen Mirren has not gone crazy overboard but is not all natural. Sarandon looks better now than she did in Thelma and Louise. Look back at their movies from 20 years ago or google old pictures. You'll see most look younger than they did many years ago. Yeah, they might have a few lines around their eyes, but otherwise the bags under the eyes are gone, lips are fuller, cheeks are fuller/higher, and so on. And don't forget about photoshop.

@Jordan2 it sounds like that's your way of looking at aging.

I see it more as individuals than I do with their gender.

NONE of them are aging well and they have ALL had work done?

I take it you don't like Hollywood people.

As for not aging well, don't tell Betty White.  BETTY WHITE IS 94 YEARS OLD, still working and active in animal welfare.  She's also smart as a whip and considered by many to be as cute as a button.

Re: Observation Men And Women Aging

It does appear that men and women do age differently. Part of it is in the genes I think. I can think of many women that have aged gracefully with no or minimal surgery. One man that I still find handsome is Richard Geer, have always had a crush on him at any age. He is easy on the eye in my opinion.

A lot of who looks good aging in Hollywood has to do with who had plastic surgery and who hasn't.  Or who had a good surgeon and who didn't!  Weight has a lot to do with the aging process also, unfortunately.

D.XXX Clarks book that I read eons ago said that he aged well due to his parents (genes). So I think he may be right. The Hollywood people have to try and look their best because of their jobs, just like models.. He was on American Bandstand if you need that bit of info. They didn't let me put in his other name, as we knew him. (Richard).

Al Pacino comes to mind as someone who hasn't aged well.

Harrison Ford and Betty White......good....

It got me thinking that men seem to age more gracefully than women ( especially in Hollywood). A man gets distinguished with age, a woman is just getting old.

My opinion is that this is a learned, cultural response.  Try to turn your thinking around and see the beauty in an older woman.
