Pam, your home is going to seem very empty and quiet for awhile but be assure the pain of losing a beloved pet lessens with time.  Dogs and cats can become terminally ill so fast that it doesn't allow us time to adjust to the idea that they are going to leave us.  It sounds as though Lily was an exceptional cat.  Hold your memories of her in your heart.

Your loss of Lily is very sad to read. All pet lovers that have gone through this terrible and painful situation understand. She sounds like a beautiful and caring cat and I very sorry for your loss of her and her love for you.

There is nothing I can say that would minimize your pain of losing your loved one. I can only say my wife and I have been through many of these painful losses, and we understand.
