This is my daughter's (5th grade) upcoming school schedule:

12/16 Word play test

12/16 WWI test

12/20 Math test

12/21 Spelling quiz

12/21 Test Structure test

12/21 Science test

12/21 Invention due

Is this the "norm?"

2 tests the 1st day, looks like a weekend until the next test, 2 tests aftewr that and a project due.

The project shouldnt be completed the night before but done before testing begins. Normal for our school was 2 tests a day max. Spelling should be low-key to some extent.

I taught 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. This schedule isnt out of line, esp. if the invention project has been 99% completed before testing begins.

We always gave ongoing dates of sectional completion for projects-no last minute panic, esp. for parents.

Why aren't you asking the teacher? I don't see what the problem is because you did not point out your concern.

As a former (mind reader), er, teacher, I think the OP is concerned that there is more than 1 test a day before the holidays.

Seems fine to me. It's the end of the quarter -- tests and assignments need to be done.
