funny!

Recently I recorded "Demetrius and the Gladiators" and today I've been watching it...often bursting into laughter at the performances.

The actors of the 50's and 60's belong to what my sister and I call "The Overwrought School of Acting". Victor Mature is so keyed up in his first scene that he looks like he's going to burst into tears the first time he speaks.

On the other hand, there's a -- also unintentionally, I'm sure -- major "ick" factor, when nasty, grizzled old Victor Mature nuzzles young, beautiful, dewy fresh Debra Paget. YUCK!!!

Anyone else remember these Biblical -- and other -- extravaganzas from that period?
