Still having a panic attack here. I was late on the Frontline Plus maybe about two weeks or so?? We live in a pretty wooded area and this is the first time that my dog had a tick attached to him. I didn't know ticks were that big!!! I am religious about giving him his Heartgard but I usually procrastinate on the Frontline since the packaging is difficult to open, I've had them leak so many times because of twisting or opening the package wrong. The vet told me that the Frontline actually lasts longer than a month - but I never will be late with it ever again!!!

I called my vet's office in a panic and they told me to remove it with tweezers and try to grab it as close to the head as possible and remove it. My husband did it for me because I was seriously freaking out. It appears as though we got the whole thing - they said to clean it with peroxide but I didn't have any so I used a little rubbing alcohol and a gauze pad. I applied the Frontline Plus right away.

I am so freaked out right now. How do I know what kind of tick that was?? It was a lot bigger than I expected, I thought they were hard to see. Should I be looking out for anything? I am so afraid right now of him being sick. He's just so happy right now with all the emotional treats that I gave him.. LOL! Oh goodness, I don't know what to do with myself right now!
