This is frightening and heartbreaking for the families. Just one incident like this would have been unfathomable back when I was a teen in the 70's. It's just horrific.

@Elodie2 news reports still coming in and they're not giving too much info. Victims names and have been released and the 15 yr.old shooter will be not be tried as an adult...so wrong, IMHO. Many news conferences from police chiefs and governor, but not conforting that this cannot happen again. They mostly thank the first responders.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A North Carolina district attorney said Friday that she intends to charge the 15-year-old suspected in a mass shooting that killed five people in Raleigh as an adult.

Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman said that her office had filed petitions to transfer the case "to Superior Court and to proceed against the individual as an adult.”

As in other parts of the country, NC is abig hunting state, as my neighbors in cities nearby can attest. This a big weekend activitity with beer, snacks, trucks of hunting dogs and many times kids are taken along to teach them how to hunt and be a man (?).

Until gun control is taken seriously, we will continue to see this savage behaivor.

@Shanus, My heart goes out to all the innocents gunned down where you live. And their families, who are now joined in grief to all those other poor families who have experienced the same. As they say, “now members of the club no one ever wants to belong to.”

Please forgive me, but I must say. Nearly ten years ago, in my state, in a quiet little town so like mine, the unthinkable happened. As you know, 20 first grade little ones and 6 brave women trying to save them were slaughtered by one disturbed gun nut. His mother encouraged his love for guns.

She was his first victim, but is never added to the count because of her feeding his addiction, knowing he was mentally ill.

We all thought, well this is it. How can anyone not want to see some action on this problem. Some regulation and control. No. It’s all about money and control. Funny how we all have to pass a driving test for our license to drive a car. No one balks at that.

Please be well. I can understand how your heart is hurting now.

Kids play video games and watch movies and tv all over the world. This only happens in the USA.
