The Rolling Stones is the only group I'd like to see in concert.
I saw the Beatles twice, and they were inaudible--sound systems weren't so good back in the Pliocene era of the mid-60s.

1. Beatles
2. The Dead
I did see The Dead, quite a few times, hung out with Jerry Garcia once.

I've actually seen the Grateful Dead at the old Fillmore West in San Francisco. Some friends took me there for my 21st birthday. It wasn't like being at a concert where everyone had assigned seats, you just either danced or sat on the floor.
I only went to places like FMW or the Avalon to see groups. I never liked going to a concert where people would sometimes get hysterical, I thought it was sort of scary. FMW was very relaxed and laid back. Usually around midnight someone would come in and offer around a plate full of buzzed brownies.

The Beatles would be my choice.

I would have said The Beatles, but back in their day, the crowds screamed so loud that nobody could hear the music, so there wouldn't have been any point to going. The Grateful Dead probably had a more mellow crowd.

I already saw the Beatles at Suffolk Downs racetrack when I graduated from Junior High with a girlfriend and her older brother bought us tickets. We had first row seats with a chain link fence in front of us-couldn't touch them though.
Went to a Rolling Stones concert in Foxboro a few years back and I would go again I love them!
