Just read in The New Yorker that JFK's granddaughter (Tatiana Schlossberg) has been given a diagnosis of terminal leukemia...to read it on 11/22...! My heart..
Another Class of '66 present.

I just read this on a newsfeed, this is just devastating news, Tatiana is a mother of two and diagnosed with less than a year to live. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and the Kennedy/Schlossberg families.

I was the same age as Caroline, in first grade.
i was sad for her and her little John John.
probably first time I realized your parents could die.
it had a profound effect on me, always worried about losing a parent.

@SoCal Bred What devastating news. Hoping that some new treatment can help slow the disease. Jackie died from lymphoma at age 64. It seems like this family has one tragedy after another.

I was 13 years old and in the 8th grade. My father was a Postal Inspector and was called to Dallas where he was part of the team that tracked the purchase order used by Oswald to buy the rifle used in the shooting, which he left in the Texas School Book Depository, where he worked.
Many years later I was able to visit the Arlington National Cemetery and was able to pay my respects at the President's grave site, where Jacqueline and nearby, Robert F. Kennedy were buried as well. To this day, I truly believe none of my generation will ever forget the shock and trauma.

I was in 3rd grade and the Principal made the announcement that President Kennedy had died over the intercom in each classroom. There was one boy, I'll never forget him, who stood up and cried out "NO!" Can't remember if we all went home early or not.

I was in 9th grade French class. When I walked home it was so quiet, it was eerie.

I had just graduated from college in August and was working in a department store awaiting the start of my USAF Officer Traing School class to start January 2nd.
The news came over a TV in an adjacent department of the store.
