Not just QVC's shipping

[ Edited ]

It's also the Post Office.  I just checked to see if an order arrived at the post office.  It did.  4 days ago.  It's still showing as Shipment Acceptance at Post Office. Hoping they will deliver it Monday.  I doubt today, if it's still showing that message.

I'm so frustrated with the post office.  QVC has been shipping things in a timely manner but I have an order of Lock and Lock that's been sitting at my post office for 5 days.  I have received orders that were placed AFTER the Lock and Lock was shipped.

Not to get political but someone needs to pull the plug on the USPS and put them out of their misery.  I would rather pay more to ship UPS.

I too have had items sitting in the post office for days.  However, I am understanding of how many more packages they have had to deliver during these times of online orders.  I am appreciative of the post office.  What other service can you count on to deliver your mail right to your house every day regardless of the weather.  Waiting a few extra days is the least of my worries during these times.

@songbird  My Spurtles have been at my local post office for 11 days! A few days ago I chatted online with CS from QVC. A new set was ordered, and the rep said "If the first set ever shows up, just send it back at no charge." I wish QVC would work a deal with FedEx or UPS instead of USPS.

I've had two packages in the past month that have gotten lost at the Post Office, one from WalMart and one from Macy's. The USPS tracking system is a joke. Both packages show that they arrived at my local post office and then just disappeared. I ordered a package from QVC earlier this year and it showed the same, arriving in my town and then poof. After receiving a replacement order shipped via UPS, my original order came in dirty and beat up. I don't know where it was but it had seen better days. When my package from Macy's didn't arrive, I asked them to please ship in any way other than USPS, which they did, and it arrived via UPS within 3 days. It's not an issue with the Q, in my opinion.

My post office is bad, too. I actually keep a book with all my bills listed and track when I should have them and when I sent them out. I'm always getting other people's mail and either redeliver myself or put a note on it and put back in my mail box to redeliver. Not sure if others do the same. I just redelivered a package to some one 3 blocks from me that I got in error.

@PA Mom-mom,  it is because of the deals worked out with the carriers that packages are transferred to USPS.  Most major high volume shippers have similar transfer deals.  My last two Amazon Prime packages were transferred to USPS.

The deals are saving us shipping costs but increasing frustration.

@Marp  I guess you are right, but when I send something to my DD via FedEx ground (Home delivery) it always stays with FedEx and she usually gets it the next day. I would think QVC could get special rates with FedEx, just like other frequent shippers get. The company I just retired from used FedEx exclusively, and we got special rates, and the packages were never transferred to USPS.

mr henny's birthday was last week. His gifts ordered by me and our two sons were all delivered late.

It's not a huge deal as the circumstances are crazy, however I am just glad they weren't gifts for children.

One was a gift from the Q. quite pricey and was worried it might have been stolen as the tracking just stopped. The other two were ordered from amazon .

All were ordered weeks ago.

@PA Mom-mom,  I have zero doubt that Q and others do get special rates from the carriers and that includes using transfers to USPS.

You mentioned your company.  Do they ship hundreds of thousands of packages 7 days a week?

One thing I can't figure out is how it is determined if a package is shipped UPS or FedEx from start to finish or goes to USPS.  I've had very small packages come direct and larger packages transferred.  I've had small packages transferred and larger packages come direct.  Weight, size or contents does not seem to be a determining factor.

I think I would find the shipping contract between Q, Amazon, etc. and UPS very interesting and likely one of the most complicated legal documents I've ever read.
