I have to say I thought the neighborhood was a much more upscale location. These just look like normal homes in a normal neighborhood. Hmm...not sure what the big fuss is?

What stands out to me is how close they built to the road. Yikes! I would imagine they will just hand a out a fine and let the house stand as is.

There is no mistaking that they knew what they were doing. I hope that they are and have good neighbors. That is what matters the most.

My first house was in an official historic district and even new windows had to be approved, vinyl exterior was not allowed. How this modern design ever got approved is baffling.

I agree with that one! My parents lived in a historic district and they had to get everything right down to trim color approved by the historic commission.

I really do not see much difference between their house and the green house.

The windows on the green house are almost the same, at least in length.

Their house even has columns like the green house. The garages have a different roof but honestly I expected to see a totally different historical style house being compared to the new one.

I think it's interesting that in the video they say Oakwood needs to look forward and not remain stuck in the past - so that someday people will say ""that was an amazing house of 2014""

I know what you mean. Not to be unkind or snobbish, but the neighborhood doesn't really look like anything all that special, does it?

That was my first thought. Not much looks very "historical" to me.

All the houses look like they practically sit on the road.

I don't get what is so historical looking about the green house either. It looks rather ordinary to me. Most of the homes do.
