@MamaWick wrote:Hmmmm...not very happy with Amazon Prime Day. We had our eye on an item. The price was $374.99 AND there was also extra coupon for another 20%. We looked at a couple of other similar items throughout the day. When we went back to order it, the 20% coupon was gone. So, we decided to wait a bit and try again. Checked on it several times, and then there was a 5% coupon. Huh? Went back in a little later and the 5% coupon was gone. Kept checking it throughout the day and evening, and a coupon never reappeared. What's up with that Amazon?
Doesn't the Q do this all the time? Price only good for this airing. Price goes up at midnight.....
Amazon uses algorithms for their pricing. I can have things in my cart for months and many times I get notice when I log in that a price has either gone up slightly or has gone down. This is all the time and not just Prime Day. Walmart does it too.
Don't see how you can blame this on Amazon, though I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted.

Hi @MamaWick
Almost everything I purchase is from Amazon. Like their prices, I am assuming these coupons were the same.
I was looking at buying a new electronic device, and put it in "buy later". By the time I went back a few hours later, it was priced over $100 higher.
Have bought from them as a Prime member for many years. When I see a price on something I have been following, go way down in price? No buy later, I grab it, and 90% of the time, the price is never lower.
This doesn't surprise me, nor would it sour me on Amazon. That is how it has been all the years I have been buying items from them. Coupons I have never experienced, price changes. I have, and still experience for many things, fluctuating by the hour. On 3 digit items, that can add up too 3 digit price changes.
You can always call an Amazon rep, I have always had a good experience in the few times I have called them.
Say hi to PapaWick for both of us,

Amazon and other retailers do this all the time. If you open the coupon info, you'll see that many sale prices or coupons last only an hour or other specific time. Just like Q, HSN, Kohl's, Macy's, and other retailers.

I always had smooth sailing with Amazon until my latest 2 orders. I saw some Eddie Bauer sheets I liked and they were 53.00 and I put them in my cart.
I went back in a couple of days and they were 73.00. I deleted them.
About a week later, I was shown them under "Items you browsed" and they were 51.00!
I ordered them right then and there.
They were coming in several days, then they were coming early, then they were sorry they were delayed, and then my request for a return was accepted and the order was re-placed and I had instructions to return the first ones by Aug 9 or I would be charged again for them. Except that I never requested anything and never got anything to return!
I called customer service and they said the driver requested the return and to never mind the notice for me to return the items I never got.
I will check my bank transactions on Aug 9 to be sure!
After all of this I had ordered a pair of boat shoes that they said were lost (after tracking info showed they made it to my state!) and to cancel the order and order them again.
I did--and the shoes were $6 bucks cheaper than the first time!
If they ever actually get here I will consider that a lucky break!

@MamaWick This reminds me of the old saying "If you snooze, you Lose". Amazon has the right to adjust prices and coupons at any time.

I received all my orders in two days so I was happy about that. I ended up returning something, I went to Kohl's which is kind of out of the way for me. Kohl's gave me $5 In Kohl's Cash and a coupon for 10% off for Sephora ( they have Sephora in the store). A guy came in with a big carton on a dolly to return. It clearly stated on the box do not bring to store. The Kohl's worker said some venders don't do the Kohl's return, the guy was turned away.

My vase I ordered from Amazon arrived broken, and I called CS and they said not to return the broken item as broken glass was dangerous, but then a couple days later I got an email saying if the item wasnt returned by a specific date I would be charged....So here's another call and the second rep said no dont worry about it since it involved broken glass and she sent out an email to notify Amazon and I got a copy of the email saying return would not be required in this situation. Only took 2 calls and then waiting for a replacement (SARCASM)

I no longer have Prime, not worth it to me. Shipping is fast anyway. I have a wish list and check it every day. When I see an acceptable price, I buy it. I assumed the price differences are because who Amazon buys it from and the price they pay for it. Popular things change fast, some don't. I buy my ground coffee from them because it's cheaper than my store's sale price. Make up is a good price and easier than trying to find it at CVS. Cat food by the case was a blessing when stores were out. We are old so shopping in stores anymore is a pain.
