Not even with free shipping!

$100 for emergency food - a la K-rations. No thanks - and both my snowbird homes are in hurricane territory where preparation is vital.

She's talking about HSN's TS today. $99 for dried food that supposedly lasts 25 years.

Oh okay. I has no clue what she was referencing. I saw a coat as today's TSV on Q.

Is is the brand you don't like, or the fact that you don't believe in storing this type of emergency food? If you have other brands you have used and like, please share.

If you have tried theses foods, and don't care for them in general, I would agree with you to not waste money on them. The old adage, eat what you store, and store what you eat, is the best advice.

From what I've read on these boards, & from personal opinion, I think people would be better served to stock up on canned/dried foods,& water in anticipation of severe weather when they either can't get out to shop, or the stores are all sold out.

OP, they no longer call them K- rations. Not not sure what the technical name is used for these foods now by the military, but I am sure they are just as tasty

OP have you even tried this product? Highly recommended by many. They DO service the purpose for which they are intended. Emergency survival. Many campers and general outdoor enthusiasts use this product for emergencies too!

The military gives out MRE's [Meals Ready to Eat].
