Went one time many years ago with a bunch of friends. We had hotel rooms so if we needed to go to the bathroom we went to the hotel. Of course this was before all of the extra security they have now and we could come and go as we pleased.
I stuck with my friends like glue because it's very easy to get lost in a crowd that size! We said if we got lost we would just meet back at the hotel. Thankfully we all had cellphones so that helped staying in touch with everyone.
Would I do it again? Nope! Especially now with all of the security, it's just too much hassle to get around. Once was enough for me. And I'm not as young as I used to be to be standing for hours in cold and wet weather. ![]()

Absolutely no desire to get near that place. Once you're in the area, you have to stay or if you need to leave, you won't get back in. All the news channels are talking about that situation. All sort of laughing at it......commenting in Depends, etc. Boy, what a stinky messy place that will be.
NO THANK YOU.....

I was born in NYC and lived there for 41 years. I never went to Times Square on New Year's Eve. Nobody I know who lives within fifty miles of NYC has been, nor do they ever plan to. This is funny timing because I just asked all of my Facebook friends if they'd ever been and every single one of my friends who lives in or near NYC said NO!
Wild horses couldn't drag me; and I could have gone at a time when there was no security and bathrooms were open to the public in restaurants, etc.
TBH, the same thing applies for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's a nightmare. You take little kids and unless you get there many, many hours ahead of time (which isn't feasible with little kids) you won't get close enough to the front for them to see anything.
Don't get me wrong; I lovelovelove NYC and its home to me. But events that draw huge crowds were always a big NO.

I wrote my post before I saw yours. The bodily fluids will wash away, so that's good.
