I have said it for several weeks.  A small number of posters are intent on deliberately stirring up panic, fear and anxieties.  For their own amusement, in my opinion.

I know it helps to put all in better perspective when I read articles like this morning from a Doctor on how to tell when it the virus or your "seasonal allergies"?   I think some of us remember the movies we watched in the.  Outbreak for one is now playing again.

Be concerned and careful but not panic.

One good tip is that with "seasonal allergies" you don't have a fever.

They can have millions of ICU beds, but where are all of the nurses coming  from to work there and manage them?  Believe me, not just any nurse can work in ICU. They will need many ICU doctors and respiratory therapists also.

I don't know - where were they when 20,000 to 50,000 people died of flu?

How is this different?

It would be one thing to report how this lack of equipment/doctors has actually caused death/lack of care, but to create hysteria and panic by telling people - oh oh oh there won't be enough - that is just wrong.

But okay ,to say this virus could be a sinster plot, you spoke of?

Well the press created hysteria is an example.  I think it is sinister to yell fire in a crowed theatre.  Sorry if you don't agree.

Absolutely true. Headlines like that are irresponsible anywhere. OP is adding to the anxiety that others on this board might have and adding to the problem.

For some critically-ill COVID-19 patients, mechanical ventilation can be the difference between recovery and death.

Ventilators assist or replace respiratory functions, pumping oxygen into the blood for vital organs. They are "the main supportive treatment" for patients in the critical stage of COVID-19, when the mortality rate is 61.5%, a Feb. 24 Lancet medical journal study found from a sample of 52 patients in a hospital in Wuhan.

How many are currently on ventilators in the US from this virus?

She's a realist and clearly is just discussing what is going on. Her posts are no different than the frequent interruptions on television with the N.J. governor or N.Y. governor explaining what is going on in my area.

If people panic or have anxiety then they should not be on any social media and they should turn off the television. Also stop reading a newspaper. Sigh.
