Not angry, but a little peeved, should I be?

OK every Friday morning I go to a weight class, free weights for one hour. I have a friend, more like a long aquaintance that insist on saving me a spot because she is there a half hour earlier.

Now to save a spot in a crowded class, and especially now, everyone joins the first of the year and it peters out toward the end of the month, although this class is always full with regulars. Now I'm not late to class, just get there about 5 minutes before it starts because of other obligations.

Well, to save a spot means putting a step down with risers and a mat. I thank her everytime and at the end of class put mine and her stuff away to show my appreciation.

Today, I went in and she said, I saved you a spot in front of me, but someone took it. I said OK, did you tell them it was for your friend who will be in anytime now. She looked down at the ground and said, no, I let them have it. I didn't say anything and went and got another spot, but thought, why save a spot if you are really not saving it. I would have said, this is for my friend who will be here in the next few minutes. Now remember, though I appreciate the saving, I have asked her not too. We spoke during the week, she asked me if I would be there Friday, I said yes, she said, I'll save you a spot.

What do you think? Like I said, I'm not angry, in the bigger picture of things, this is small, just need an opinion. Thank you
