Not everybody celebrates Thanksgiving or x-mas.

Not everybody has family to put on a big spread for, or a place to go to.

So, why not go to a movie, or restaurant, or *gasp* shopping.

Also, the brick & mortar stores are also competing with on-line retailers for your money. And the on-line retailers are open 24/7.

And yes, sooner, rather than later, stores will be open on x-mas.

And I am okay with that.

I'm ok with all of it, I can 'celebrate' anytime and I'd rather take home the double time I earn on those days.

Re: Nordstrom's Announcement

I'm sure many people would shop on Christmas day if stores were open.

EXCELLENT policy. More stores should do the same. Nordstrom's is one of favorite places to shop. Excellent customer service in the store and on line.

I agree. They have the best customer service, and the best return policy of any store I have shopped.

They won't have displays/wreaths, but will they still have holiday themed items? (ornaments, socks etc.) Some people like to buy this stuff early.

Re: Nordstrom's Announcement

I think Nordstrom has always done this.  It is not a new policy.

I personally wish everyone would do it.  I have all my Christmas shopping done because I hate the hassle of last minute.  I decorate for Christmas Black Friday and start my wrapping.
