I can  picture a horror movie made about Elf on the Shelf. Kind of like the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies where he invades a child's dreams and scares them.

I remember that Christa Pitts, a former QVC host, is the daughter of the woman who made up this elf doll and I think that's why Christa left, to become part of the business along with her sister.

Why can't our Elf on the Shelf be a role model instead of an accomplice? - Decafnation

Thankfully he was not around when my kids were young and I don't have any grandchildren.  Cannot say I'm sorry I missed all the supposed fun, LOL.    Anything reminding me of a Chuckie doll is not my cup of tea.  @Spurt  the pictures you posted are pretty funny though!!

When I was a kid, I used to receive an Elf with a Whitman sampler mini candy box tucked into his arms.  They were sold that way and available at our local drug store.

I have no idea when this Elf on the Shelf nonsense came into existence.  I find it creepy and scary. Kids should not be subject to things that go bump in the night.
