If you want totally free speech then you are free to start and pay for your very own board, where you can say whatever you please.  As long as this one is owned and paid for by QVC they set the rules. Very simple.

Here is the forum standards for posting rules.

Most rules are obvious, but a few are not...

  • These are public areas and programs. Do not post personal or any other information that you do not wish to have made public.
  • Do not post any Personally Identifiable Information including, but not exclusive to, first or last names, address, telephone number, email address, social security number, QVC account number, or birthday.
  • Be respectful and courteous to others, even if you disagree with them. Do not use language or post content that is unkind or in poor taste or engage in personal attacks.
  • Do not initiate or engage in political discussions or discussions of a controversial nature.
  • Do not submit images or videos involving nudity, profanity, or other obscene and distasteful content.
  • If you include other people in your images or videos, make sure you have their permission to do so, including parental consent of minors.
  • Do not have music, TV shows, or movies playing during a video. Music cannot be included, even if you composed it yourself
  • Do not submit images or videos, or post any other information, that depict or describe an incorrect usage of the product.
  • Do not engage in harassing, threatening, abusive, violent, discriminatory (racist, sexist, etc.), hostile, or defamatory language or behavior that would be considered inappropriate by any rational person. Do not use language or post content that is profane, sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, vulgar, or offensive.
  • Do not invade the privacy of others and do not use third-party copyrighted or trademarked content in anything you post.
  • Do not engage in, suggest, or encourage activity that is unlawful or inconsistent with the General Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Statement governing this site.
  • Use of these public areas for commercial purposes is prohibited. Do not use any Community features (including, but not limited to, video, forums, reviews, images, and profiles) to solicit funds, advertise, or solicit goods or services, or post third-party promotional material. Only use these public areas and Community features for non-commercial purposes.
  • Please refrain from posting InsideQ content to Community blogs and forums as InsideQ is intended to be exclusive information. This includes Today's Special Value® item numbers and other information found only within the publication. We appreciate your respect of fellow members.
  • Do not post viruses, Trojan horses, worms, corrupted files, active code, or any other materials that could contaminate or damage another person's computer.
  • Do not post web addresses (URLs) for, or links to, outside sites that violate these guidelines.
  • Do not re—post deleted messages.
  • All postings must be in English.
  • Any materials posted by you will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary and may be used by QVC or others without restriction as they deem appropriate.
  • Keep your postings relevant to the topic. This makes it easier for others to follow the conversation.
  • Do not bump messages.
  • Do not flood or spam, post chain letters or junk mail, or engage in other behavior that could disrupt the Community features or this site.
  • REPORTING ABUSE: A Community participant's excessive use of the ''Report Abuse'' function to report other Community participants without cause may result in the participant being banned from further participation in the QVC Community.

Regarding using the forums to advertise competitors, I never will understand why this is even questioned.  QVC is in the business of making money, I would think.  Why would they finance a public forum and then allow people to use it to advertise other businesses?

And as far as "free speech...  "  By now, don't all of us know this doesn't pertain to privately-owned forums?  We agree to the Standards for Participation when we register and use this platform.

Why not enjoy the forums for what they are, with their limitations and imperfections?  I do understand it sometimes helps to vent, but at this point don't most of us know how the Q Community operates?Smiley

Obviously not.

With so many chat rooms out there - is there any way we could 'move' off this site and to another - - where we could post honest remarks?    However, if you post such a site, the monitors would remove before we could read it.

Boring is the name of the game here for sure.

i.e., what are you having for Thanksgiving?

I'm surprised some get away with as much as they do here.

It would be nice if they had a separate  forum just for politics.  With the up coming presidential  vote coming up, it would make sense we would want to discuss things going on. It is sad we can not share our feelings.

I disagree.  This isn't the place for it.  There are lots of forums aimed at political discussions/fights/name-callings etc.  That is where those discussions belong.

There are many other places you can share those feelings and no need for it to be this place.

Once in a while there is a "Vegas" site mentioned on this forum.  I think a poster with the word "yankee" in his/her nic started it.  Some posters have mentioned that they prefer this site over the Q boards.  I have never read/posted there.

@muttmom, The moderators have explained before that there's no way for them to see all posts to all threads in all forums and sub-forums, and they rely on the report feature to call their attention to those things which violate standards but escaped their attention.
