It's even worse when you had typed out a long, thoughtful response only to find out the topic was no longer active.
The worst is when a thread disappears for a few hours for sanitizing and, when it is returned to the forum, so many posts have been removed that it resembles swiss cheese.

When I first saw it, I thought it was for comic relief.
I kept it all of these years and would run across it in my pictures sometimes...
I did think it was cute and funny...
I love the little springbok (deer)!!
She made an appearance today....on another active thread. Cute.
You might as well just tell people you think they are stupid as to post that. . . if you have something to say, say it or don't post. I really don't see any difference in the deer and calling people hens. Both are sending your message aren't they?
*********** I think we need to allow for how people take some of these sayings. In the household I was raised in, "henpecked" was used not to describe the woman, but a man who never spoke up to his wife and the wife always got her way. It was not always the women who were abused you know. Men just never talked about it.
My point is, I think we have to take some of these things with a grain of salt especially in view of the fact that we don't see each other face to face and we don't know how that person meant it. Maybe when we feel ourselves get angry or feel insulted we should ask the other person what they meant by a certain phrase. People from my generation might not mean that particular phrase as an insult to the woman and may actually have been targeting the man!
edited this to make a new paragraph....am trying to do better on that

The lectures and the lecturers get old.

I agree, I don't really think the hen comment was that insulting . and was pretty accurate described what was happening. Certainly not any worse than posters calling each other old.

You can be old but you can't be a hen (chicken).

To make a long story short, I am an old hen... 🐔

You can't have it both ways. If you want to talk about grown up things, quit reporting people.
I say this, because I keep seeing statements from the mod about people flagging posts.
This is soooo true. there are several posters here who report anything that disagrees with their Point of view. Some mods then take them down and others only if they do , in fact, violate standards. Like any workplace , some of the moderators are lazier than others.
Didn't you say you had a "friend" and all it took was a phone call to get things poofed?
YES, she did, and I don't believe it.
