@qvcaddition. Seems like you've been around long enough to know the rules and not be astounded by them. Their board, their rules like it or not.

Can't we all agree to STOP using words and phrases that have been used for a long time to denigrate women?
We all know what they are, words like hens, witches, old biddies, etc.

Amen, Noel.
It's not the first time that word has been used by this poster and I continue to find it insulting and derogatory. There is no positive spin to put on using it.
I just posted something related to this. I don't know about anyone's personal posting history in this case, but I think it's so unfortunate when we use terms like that toward one another, and the fact is we're all capable of expressing ourselves without such antiquated and possibly offensive terms.

This board (as I've posted) has the right to decide what's put on it. My complaint was when they want a post removed they should just delete it. I said even then, it's the right of the board.
I don't know what planet some of you are living on but in the past several years (now at rocket speed) we have lost the right to free speech.
Here's the thing. You cannot make someone like or dislike something or someone. That falls under other words (mostly intelligence).
If the OP wants to be able to discuss everything then he/she will have to go someplace other than here. People come here (some do) because they feel like QVC will enforce the rules of this board.
I think in this country if you yell the loudest, people listen. The majority no longer rules. This board belongs to QVC, not the people. Even I understand that.
What are you talking about? I really am having trouble understanding this rambling on what seems to be many topics jumbled together.

Regarding the Starbucks thread, there were 3-4 hens 'pecking' at each other last night...and it started back up this morning. Moderators need to know when this happens.
Many upthread are overthinking it by talking about 'our rights' & 'Constitution'....when it's just a "Be Nice To Others" thing. Either you understand that or you don't.
I agree that the way we use "you" can be confrontational or accusatory in tone, so it's good to be aware of it. I wanted to add, though, calling posters "hens" is considered derogatory by some and might not be the way to generate good will or "be nice to others." No doubt, that's another example of something the moderators might take note of as being insulting or inflammatory in nature to some extent. The written word can be filled with pitfalls, and what we intend as good humor sometimes comes across as something else.
The term 'hen' is not a derogatory term.
Websters Dictionary defines it:
2. WOMAN; especially : a fussy middle-aged woman
And yes, many threads are derailed by 'fussy middle-aged women'.
If said thread gets derailed with rude comments, that's a derogatory term & a whole 'nuther animal.
LOL Well that is certainly nicer than what was said last night .
I just shake my head at this place sometimes.

The popcorn deer was up elsewhere today, perhaps it should visit here????

My treatise on free "speech":
When other people are paying for my use of their web service, they get to have the right to police my activity.
The school district policed my use of THEIR Internet and email system and I knew it... I didn't blame them.
When DD worked for the Government, I warned her that she didn't have the "right" to say (no, I mean WRITE) whatever she wanted and not expect her bosses to read her words.
So, so, so... I think it is a privilege to have this board to communicate and make friends.
Wonder if newspapers (dinosaurs that they are) printed everything people said at the expense of the presses?

The popcorn deer only appears when people have nothing to say. It's like thumbing your nose at people. . . Sorry, but I think it is one of the rudest things on this board.

Yep. No surprises in any of that for anyone who has agreed to QVC's TOS for their forms - which you agree to when you join and make your first post. QVC makes the rules and enforces the standards on THEIR forum.

I weep for our nation when people do not understand what our founding fathers meant by free speech.

The deer munching popcorn I guess is meant to be rude?
When I first saw it, I thought it was for comic relief.
I kept it all of these years and would run across it in my pictures sometimes...
I did think it was cute and funny...
