Being exposed to everyday germs builds our immunity, especially when we're young.

No shoes in my house.  I provide slippers. At front door.  Did this before covid.  I do make exception if person is unable to remove shoes because of age .elderly. Or disab!e.

There is no way I would wear socks or slippers provided by another person.  To me it is so gross to " share foot items" even if they are washed.

I won't even rent bowling shoes, ice or roller skates.

I am a cosmetologist and will not even get a pedicure.  I know and have seen too many things that can go wrong with shared foot items

These to shoe or not to shoe indoors posts always leave me wondering...

Do those who don't allow guests to wear shoes in their homes have pets? You know, the dog that you walk around the block on those same sidewalks we find so disgusting or even worse a cat that is jumping in and out of a litterbox and then might even jump on the kitchen counter. Gag! 🤮

@magicmoodz this is one of the reasons why I just can't get worked up about shoes in my house.  I have a dog that goes out in our own backyard to walk around and handle her business.  Things fly around over our backyard and well, you know what happens.  LOL  We have ducks, deer, squirrels, rabbits and groundhogs in our backyard.  And I live in the city.  I also walk her on a regular basis.  And no she doesn't get her feet cleaned off every single time she comes in.  I do wipe them if she's muddy.

As a dog lover, I hear you. In fact when I invite my dog-owning friends over I always tell them to bring their dogs and they aren't little teacup poodles either

As for shoes, we don't typically wear shoes in our house simply because we don't like wearing shoes. I would never even think to request someone take their shoes off when entering my home, but like you when entering someone else's home we remove our shoes.
