@arizona babe - Since you have Direct TV are you having this issue?  When we put a show on pause and then go to unpause it, once click and the picture is still.  Second click and the video portion is moving but the audio takes 3-5 seconds to start.  Just curious.  We also lost about 4 channels and were never told they weren't part of our pkg. They just disappeared from the guide.

Are you happy with Direct?

You all need interior antennas so you're not dependent on cable or satellite.  I watch QVC, Q2 and HSN over the air, as well as all the local channels.  Anyone in NYC ought to get fantastic reception and lots of channels.

"We all"?  LOL

I live 15 miles outside San Francisco and due to land topography, cannot get over the air TV reception. If I want to watch TV, my only options are cable or internet.

@WORKING GAL  I like Direct TV  for the simple reason the cable company in AZ known as COX stinks and Direct TV is trash- I have a DVR tuner but not the genie as my house is not wired for that- I have noticed that it takes longer for the channels to switch on my tuners, I am sure because it is the older  equipment- but all works so right now I am not switching- the cable goes out very infrequently unless we have major thunderstorms and high winds and then it is only the HD channels that have the issue

Re: No QVC TV! (update)

[ Edited ]

The next chapter in the continuing saga of my remote control .....

The new remote arrived today, with a sheet of itsy bitsy printing (both sides of the paper) with instructions how to setup.

I inserted the batteries, reviewed the instructions (using a lighted magnifying glass) .... and pressed this and then that and then wait for two blinks, etc., etc.

Then, I got online and messaged the cable company's tech support - told them what I did and what didn't happen.  I had to take a pic of the remote and message the pic.

I got a "try this" and "let us now if it works" ....  it didn't.

Technician arrives tomorrow afternoon. (Personally, I think it's my cable box  and not the remote.)

If you have a smart TV you should be able to watch different channels using your TV remote.  Can download apps over the internet
