Two brand new posters with a string of complaints?

We've seen that before here.  Several times.

I feel the same way.  Watch your statement carefully as they have a tendency to credit you for your return and then charge you again for that same item on your account and yes that goes into your bill and then when you don't pay that (why should you as you have already been credited) they plop a hefty interest charge on your next statement.

I've returned many items and this has never happened to me.

This is all too suspect, imo.

Not going to deny this is a true story, but.....

This scernario seems to be a common MO on these boards around this time of the year.   "One post" members giving a passionate "QVC-did-me-wrong" and/or "Never-shopping-QVC-again account."  Then around 12/23-12/25 there will be stories of how "QVC ruined my Christmas" because something wasn't delivered in time.

Of course never occurring the other 11-1/2 months can be used for Christmas shopping.

Just.

FWIW

I have never used a cc or a debit card to pay for anything online including QVC.  I always pay by check.

I also never "online" shop unless the site has a toll free # for me to place my order(s).

QVC CR will ask if I want ez pay or not or if the item(s) is/are on ez pay.

Call me cyber paranoid.......it works for me!!!

If all this is true, I am surprised. Anytime I have called Customer Service with a problem, it has always been addressed politely, quickly and efficiently.

I'm sorry this happened to you  - no idea what you heard, what was said, but for sure I would never have hit purchase without seeing the EZPay.  I believe in protecting myself because no one else does it so well!

One other thought -  consumers would do themselves a huge favor if they never ordered online using a debit card.  When I charge something and have a problem, there's always time to get things straightened out before I have to pay and before interest accrues.

I don't see why you thought the rep was rude unless it's just because you didn't get what you wanted.  Sounds way too much like a teen=ager crying "It's not fair."  I don't buy it - not here and not in the wide wide world - fairness has nothing to do with what happened.

I think this is another reminder to never use a debit card for an online purchase.  QVC is fast & loose regarding EP.  Sometimes the videos are old and EP is no longer available or only with a Q card.

By the same token you need to understand the terms when you buy something.  I think most of us have gotten caught with EP pitch line of only 5 payments of 19.95, but that 1 item still costs a hundren bucks and it's months before we pay it off.  Sometimes we need to step back and really think about the purchase.

I doubt it will take 5 days, nor will it take any more work from you. All the Q does is put a hold on the money, but if the item never ships, the hold just releases. The money is still in your account.

If it went over balance, it is because the money is on hold, even though it is in your account. All the banks I know of only hold a purchase fund for 3 days. If not billed by the vendor, then the hold is kaput and released.

The most it might hurt you is any overdraft fee. If the bank is nice, and you have not had overdraft charges many times, they might refund the fee and say "courtesy refund, just this once".

If it has happened too many times, they won't keep refunding.
