Re: No Closed Captioning on QVC?

If that is the case across the board, it's really odd.

I would think closed captions would be even more important in the "wee" hours since, if someone lives with someone else and doesn't want to disturb that person, it's logical to use closed captioning.

Or, if you use it or need it all the time anyway, you sure don't want to be turning up the volume on your television in the middle of the night (depending on how close you may be to your neighbors)!

Re: No Closed Captioning on QVC?

I use CC alot....but it annoys me more sometimes because whoever is doing the CC usually is so far behind with what is being said...or spells half the stuff wrong....or if it is going fast they just omit half of what is said...just the other day i was using it and said to myself w/all the inventions/tech improvements.....why haven't they been able to speed up the translation of the CC and have it be correct?  I used to do stenography and wouldn't have been able to get away with omitting words, not keeping up, etc...with all of today's tech equipment...it just surprises me....

Re: No Closed Captioning on QVC?

Sometimes on Facebook when QVC streams live the CC actually says "blah blah blah".  Woman LOL I don't know how it works. Is it a computer program that does it or is it an actual person doing the  typing?  Either way it is a failure. Woman Embarassed

AHA, that's what it was! I'm in Ct. too. THANK YOU FOR THAT INFO.

@shaggygirl  ... I meant that closed captioning starts at 6:00, CENTRAL TIME (CT)  LOL,  but it probably starts at that time in Connecticut, as well.   Smiley LOL

Wow, what a great idea, never thought of that.  I absolutely can not listen to Jane or Amy, so have to miss some shows.  Now I have to figure out how to use it on Frontier.  Gives me something to do HA HA

I also have Frontier, however still have the AT&T remote control cause in my neck of the woods Frontier took over several years back. On my remote just about in the middle are 3 small buttons, a yellow one w/an A on it, then a green one w/a B on it then a red one with a C on it. It's the C button, press to use closed captioning, press again to turn it off. If you have a booklet with a picture of your remote it might show which one it is. Or look on the back of yours where there should be a number, mine is S10-S3 and google it.

Just came back to add.....off the top of my head I can think of 2 hosts the CC probably can't keep up with!

Re: No Closed Captioning on QVC?

I accidently turned on CC on my TV and can't figure out how to get rid of it.  It's on the QVC channels which I get on antenna TV.

On some remotes there is a closed caption button.  If yours has that, you may have hit it accidentally.

I was watching Cracker Factory w/Angel & hostess Mary awhile ago. Tried using closed captioning on 2 different channels I receive QVC on, both in HD, but it was a no go. Tried other channels and it was working, just not for QVC. PHOOEY!! I wonder why. In any case I had to resort to muting it. Anyone else who can't use cc for QVC or is it something with my cable or tv?

@GingerPeach. Thanks so much for me mentioning this.  I checked my remote and at the very bottom, on the left was this tiny button that said "cc" in with the DVD buttons.  It did the trick.  I'm now cc free.
