A restaurant near me has grilled PB&J on their lunch menu.  I tried it once....it wasn’t bad, sort of a French toast flavor.  They even served it with a side of syrup.  Garnish of orange slices.  Not something I would order again....too sweet....but it tasted pretty good,

I would definitely not not want the cheese on it!

I think I would like it better with the bread made like a Monte Cristo sandwitch....dipped in an egg wash and fried, then topped with powdered sugar.

The Parm doesn't seem like it belongs.

Watching Giada Delaurentis making a sandwich of peanut butter, jelly, bacon then coated in butter and sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese before grilling. I find this revolting. What do you think? Could it taste good?

@Grouchomarx   She said was doing a make-over of the classic P&J sandwich.  There is no peanut butter in it.  It was for a party for Jade.

8 slices whole-grain bread

1/3 cup apricot jam, or strawberry jam if you prefer it sweeter

12 strips applewood-smoked bacon, cooked

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan

Preheat a panini press.

Spread the bread slices with the jam, all way to the edges. Lay 3 strips of bacon on 4 of the bread slices, breaking the strips as needed to fit the bread. Top with the remaining bread slices, jam-side down. Butter both sides of the sandwiches and sprinkle with the Parmesan.

Place the sandwiches on the panini press and cook until golden brown and the cheese is crispy, 2 to 3 minutes. Cut the sandwiches into 4 triangles and serve.

I don’t like peanut butter and jelly either. Never have. So it’s a no for me too.

The sandwich is a 'no' for me, but then again, so is Giada!

It  doesn't sound that bad. I'd try it. It sounds like a Monte Cristo sandwich, which is grilled ham/turkey and cheese dipped in jam.

I love fresh crunchy peanut butter but I detest jelly/jam or syrup of any kind (sickly sweet).  I put fresh fruit and/or fresh preserves on a pancake and roll it up to eat.

I can't stand to watch her cram spoons into her mouth, and I have never  liked anything she makes. I think she is getting a lot of mileage from her last name

My nightmare sandwich would include head cheese (flesh from the head of a calf or pig  encased in aspic) as a filling.  I've seen it offered on menus in Wisconsin.
