I must say, 2025 came in with some major breakdowns in the house. First the water heater broke late on a Saturday night, and couldn't be replaced until Monday between 12-4pm because they don't work on Sunday. Then on Sunday morning we had no heat. The boiler's safety valve shut the system down. They couldn't come out to assess the problem until Monday between 12-4pm. So, two major issues.
Thankfully, the water heater was replaced. It was about 6 months out of warranty, so it was full cost with labor. Expensive, though I do have a 50 gallon tank with a top brand name and the highest warranty of 12 years.
Thankfully, the boiler needed a part replaced and nothing more serious. All in all, between the two units, it set me back a little over $3,000. Not how I pictured the New Year to start, but still forever grateful considering the devastation others have, especially in the California wildfires.

Been there a few years ago. First the waterheater the beginning of Dec., then 2 days before Christmas the furnace. They were both over 20 years old. And since the furnace needed replacement , the HVAC needed to change too as they needed to match up.

Yup...it's that time of the year! (Just when you have OTHER bills)
Yesterday my garage door went bonkers. Squealing LOUDLY...and the electric eye kept opening and closing it... Repairman coming this morning.

How trying for your household. We really rely on our appliances.
Think they were plotting? 🤣

Oh No @ciao_bella ! Let's hope you are just getting all that nonsense out of the way quickly!
I'm busy battling with a drug company and my hospitalization. . . not sure which is worse, your plight or mine!

My poor sister up in Ind. lost heat on a Sunday.
Come Wed still no repair to the lines my cousin
showed up with a propane heater enough to heat one room.
I sent her a check to cover a Generac & a water heater
All the generators are about gone up there flew out the door. Whole house ones & the portable.
Her house got down to 53', her neighbor 's house got down to 35' !!!! I told her she would never have to go thru that again. No heat for 4 days, no TV, lights, etc.
The other sister went in a 1,000 on it.
