Wow. We just received a $200 check in the mail from NY state intended to help taxpayers with increased energy costs. Apparently this was publicized but I must have missed it.

Last year we received a $400 check to help with inflationary increases. It's nice to find something other than bills in the mailbox!

I didn't get this one, but I did receive the Inflation Compensation check!

I remember posters here saying "Not true", "It's a scam", "Won't happen!".

But I sure did enjoy spending my scam $300!

I received the $90 from Social Security. I'm not sure whether to buy a tank of gas or splurge on some produce.

It was touted as a big thing but $90 gets one nowhere.

@They CallMe MRWILKES  I understand the state is mailing out the checks in batches which started at the end of September. Since we just received ours this week it is very likely you will receive your check too! I hope so.

Apparently, and unbeknownst to us, Social Security made a miscalculation and they haven't been depositing the correct amount in our bank account all year.  They corrected it with a lump sum deposit for each of us, about $500 total.  Yes, a very nice surprise.
